The Tempest - Cancelled

Back to lineup

Directed by Yvette Nolan

Venue :

Due to the Covid-19 pandemic our production of The Tempest was cancelled in 2020

The Tempest begins with a storm and takes you on a wild ride of love, magic, deception and absolution.  Set on an island, Prospero, the one-time Duke of Milan, and his beautiful daughter, Miranda, live with a spirit called Ariel and a strange wild man called Caliban.  Prospero is a magician who creates the storm, or tempest, that sets the scene for the play. In the events that follow we see a plot to murder the King of Naples, a drunken scheme to kill Prospero and a romance between Miranda and the King’s son, Ferdinand. In the end, everyone is forgiven, and they all set sail for home.  The company could not be happier that Saskatoon’s finest veteran actor Kent Allen will play the lead role of Prospero!  Set Design by veteran Stephen Wade and Costume Design by the incomparable Beverley Kobelsky!  Lighting Design by Will Brooks and Music and Composition by Amanda Trapp.
