Back to lineup

Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan is proud to bring to Saskatoon, pimohtewak, Cree for ‘the ones who walk,’ a collaborative multidisciplinary piece on and around our site this winter! This free interactive storytelling experience will be available as a free iphone app and will incorporate complimentary lighting & visual design during Wintercity Shake Up and Winterruption. This project is made possible through the City of Saskatoon WintercityYXE grant, creative partnership with It's Not a Box Theatre, and sponsorship of Production Lighting.

Just picture yourself on a January evening - all bundled up in your winter attire – arriving at the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan site. At our box office you receive a iphone with earbuds. You are instructed to put in the ear buds and press play… For the next half hour, you go on a winter walk … a journey that tells you where to go, what to look for, what to find and do… all while listening to the personal stories of a resident of our beautiful Treaty 6, the official homeland of the Métis.  Learn more here.

Please note:
- The show will run 30 minutes outdoors. Please dress for the weather!
- While the show requires mobility, all site locations are accessible by electronic wheelchairs.
- Audience members are encouraged to bring your own iPhones/headphones but these can be provided as needed.

Please note that due to the nature of the event, there is a strict NO LATECOMERS policy. Please present yourself to the Festival Box Office at least 15 minutes before the scheduled start time as listed on your ticket to receive special supplies and instructions (this will take a bit of time!). As this is a free event with very limited capacity, should you arrive late, you may be denied entry and/or your ticket may be given away to the first person on the waiting list. Should this happen, we will do our best to re-book you into another performance slot (availability pending).
