Dear Friends of the Festival,
Due to the current Global Pandemic Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan has joined many of our partners and colleagues in the regrettable position of announcing the indefinite postponement of the 2020 Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival. It remains our top priority to ensure the safety of our staff, patrons, volunteers and artists and we simply cannot accomplish that without taking this necessary action. At this time, we don’t know when it will be possible to restart the festival. While it is unlikely that we will be able to hold significant in person public programming prior to the summer of 2021 we will certainly try to avail ourselves of any opportunity that presents itself prior to that. We have immense gratitude to our staff, artists, board, volunteers, donors, sponsors, funders and our core funders Saskatchewan Arts Board (funding through Sask Lotteries) and The City of Saskatoon, who have ensured the ongoing health of the festival countless times over our 35-year history, and they will indeed do that again during this time of uncertainty. Construction continues, and we look forward to our new site being a community gathering space whenever that is again safe and possible.
Sincerely,

Will Brooks
Artistic Producer
