Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival (SOTS) has been producing the works of Shakespeare on the banks of the South Saskatchewan River since 1985. We attract visitors from across the province, the country, and the world. We strive to create a warm, relaxing, and inviting atmosphere for our patrons so they can truly enjoy their theatrical experience.

Call for Proposals

The Indigenous Steering Committee for Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (SOTS) is seeking a skilled researcher and storyteller to create and assemble written content for a set of Interpretive Panels to be installed on the new Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival site in the late summer or fall of 2021.  The work would begin as soon as possible with a final draft deadline of June 15, 2021.

The Indigenous Interpretive Panel Steering Committee is comprised of First Nations and Métis community members who created the following mission:

"To share our stories by the river, of the river and its people — past, present, and future — as storytelling is our nature and our nature is our story.”

tawā - dąyą́ wacímnaga – tawāw - nuhha ho?ą - T̄aƞyaƞ yahip̄I – welcome!

The panels will be located on the riverside pathway that passes through the SOTS site and next to the “Contemplation Circle,” an architectural installation featuring the words for welcome in the Indigenous languages of Treaty Six Territory and the homeland of the Métis.
