    Macbeth

    Directed by Will Brooks

Death, death and more death in Macbeth!  The play begins with three witches who tell the military general Macbeth that he will soon become King.  Further encouraged by his wife, Macbeth kills King Duncan, and quickly becomes the new king.  However, pushed by ghosts and more strange events, Macbeth continues to kill people in the kingdom out of paranoia. A civil war erupts to overthrow Macbeth, resulting in more death and a final deadly showdown with Macduff.  The company is pleased to announce that Kristi Friday and Joshua Beaudry will play Shakespeare’s most intense power couple!  Set Design by Stephen Wade, Costume Design by Carla Orosz, Lighting Design by Will Brooks and Music and Composition by Lancelot Knight.

    The Tempest

    Directed by Yvette Nolan

The Tempest begins with a storm and takes you on a wild ride of love, magic, deception and absolution.  Set on an island, Prospero, the one-time Duke of Milan, and his beautiful daughter, Miranda, live with a spirit called Ariel and a strange wild man called Caliban.  Prospero is a magician who creates the storm, or tempest, that sets the scene for the play. In the events that follow we see a plot to murder the King of Naples, a drunken scheme to kill Prospero and a romance between Miranda and the King’s son, Ferdinand. In the end, everyone is forgiven, and they all set sail for home.  The company could not be happier that Saskatoon’s finest veteran actor Kent Allen will play the lead role of Prospero!  Set Design by veteran Stephen Wade and Costume Design by the incomparable Beverley Kobelsky!  Lighting Design by Will Brooks and Music and Composition by Amanda Trapp.
