2018 Summer Camps presented by Conexus

presents Shakespearesask Summer Drama Camps #shakespearesaskLIVE

Imagine a two-week drama camp where you and your friends learn about the beauty and hidden meanings in the language of the world’s greatest playwright.  Then imagine coming to that camp on the picturesque riverbank in downtown Saskatoon and creating your own Shakespearean memories under the skillful direction of a professional actor!  And finally imagine sharing your own performance to be enjoyed by friends and family on-stage at the amazing Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan main stage tent!  Imagination becomes reality this summer as Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan presents its 2018 line-up of Summer Drama Camps!

Youth ages 10 to 13 and 14 to 18 can experience all of this and more including free tickets to a main stage performance of Hamlet, and a wind-up hosted by Artistic Producer Will Brooks!

Our summer drama camps are the perfect place to meet new friends, spend time outdoors, and develop skills like voice and movement, textual analysis, and character creation. Our camps will be led by professional actors performing on our stage as part of our summer company. These actors will give students a deep understanding of the life and stories behind the words of Shakespeare, as well as increased confidence and skills in public speaking, teamwork, literacy, adaptability, and much more.  Conexus Credit Union will also give a short presentation to each group on financial literacy!

No experience necessary, just a willingness to explore, have fun and be creative!

Camps run on weekdays from August 7th to 17th, 9am - 12pm and 1pm - 4pm.

Each student will receive three tickets to the August 17th performance of Hamlet: Two adult tickets and one student ticket. Any additional family members wishing to attend with the student will be able to do so for a discounted rate of $25/ticket for Adults, and $15 for Students/Seniors.

Prior to the August 17th performance of Hamlet, we will be holding a wind-up for all students of the Summer Drama Camps and their families at 6:30pm. Final numbers for this wind-up are required by August 9th. Each student and guest will be eligible for a free non-alcoholic drink and food (food to be determined at a later date).

Each student will also receive a voucher for two tickets to any Mainstage performance to be used at their leisure.

All camps will be held at the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival Site. Because classes are held at an outdoor venue, we need to be mindful of weather. If weather is deemed unsafe by senior staff, classes will be cancelled and students will be sent home.
