SRRA Donor Matching Program

Staging the Future for Physical Activity – Improving the Trails with the Saskatoon Road Runners (SRRA) and Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (SOTS)!

An Exciting message from the SRRA Board of Directors:

The Saskatoon Road Runners Association is an organization that gives back to the Saskatoon community for the betterment our citizens.  Our interests especially lie in the improvements to our riverbank, the Meewasin Valley Authority (MVA) Trail System and the services that make navigating the trails easier on a year-round basis.  We are especially excited about the Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan (SOTS) Staging the Future Campaign and their plans, in partnership with the MVA and City of Saskatoon,  to route the MVA Trail through the SOTS site and along the riverbank, greatly increasing year-round access to this area.

Therefore the Board of Directors of the Saskatoon Road Runners Association is excited to announce a $50,000 matching gift opportunity.  For every gift given by our members from now until January 31, the SRRA will match it up to $50,000 for a total potential gift of $100,000 to this important community project!  Making your gift is quick and easy, DONATE Here and your be emailed a tax receipt right away.  Or mail your cheque payable to Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan Festival Inc. to P.O. Box 1646 Station Main, Saskatoon, SK S7K 3R8 and add the note "SRRA Matching."

The SRRA Board and its members contribution to this campaign will help ensure much needed enhancements to the trail system including:

  • Completing the MVA trail upgrades up to and through the new Shakespeare site including a new three metre wide path going past the site eliminating a dangerous blind spot at the Shakespeare gates.
  • Completing upgrades to the two adjacent parking lots to improve traffic flow, add more parking spaces and create a separate drop off area closer to the Shakespeare gate with additional disabled parking stalls.
  • Work with City planners to build new accessible and winterized washrooms with a water fountain inside a heated area and open year-round.

Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan plans some important upgrades that will not only make the site more accessible to all citizens of Saskatoon but also make the site usable for many other events because of:
