#ShakespearesaskLIVE presented by Cameco on Tour Now!

Hey everyone, we are really excited to have this brand new program up and out on tour right now.  For the remainder of March, #ShakespearesaskLIVE presented by Cameco and funded by Saskatchewan Arts Board's Culture on the Go program through the Government of Saskatchewan, will be visiting schools across Saskatchewan.  Check in to our Twitter and Instagram under #shakespearesasklive to see where we are and what great work the young people are doing.  Thanks to Cameco we will be in some schools in the far North as part of the tour, so stay tuned to see where we will touch down and visit our Northern friends!

The program is led by the amazing Angela Christie, a veteran actor of our stage who recently received her B Ed from the U of S.  Not only is she highly qualified to lead this performance/workshop initiative, anyone who knows her also knows she brings vitality and youthful energy to virtually everything she does - we are so lucky to have her.  Helping her out are the early career artists Dalton Lightfoot from our 2016 Season, and Anna Mazurik who is with us for the 2017 summer!  To give you an idea of what they are up to, here is part of Angela's artistic statement:

"I plan to break down the plays to their most basic, universal themes which we can all relate to no matter what age, era, or culture we find ourselves in.  And of course, because my background is in drama and acting, I always like to encourage participation in speaking and acting out Shakespeare's poetic language."

Watch for #shakespearesasklive coming to a school near you, or tell your local teachers to give us a call at 306-653-2300 and we will put you on the waiting list.  Yep, this puppy is pretty much sold out, but we may be able to extend for a couple extra days!
