6 days, 3 communities, 4 schools, 23 workshops, and over 600 students!
And it feels incredible! We have had an amazing response from the #shakespearesasklive workshops so far. I have to give a huge shout out to Anna Mazurik and Dalton Lightfoot who take whatever I throw at them and put up with my constant humming. The first few workshops were a bit chaotic as we adjusted and readjusted (all to give the students the best experience possible), but we certainly got into the swing of things very quickly! Here are some pictures from Venture Heights School in Martensville. The students helped act out 3 of Shakespeare's comedies while Anna, Dalton, and I told the story - a combination of story-telling and on-the-spot performances. Older students at the school acted out some of Shakespeare's tragedies. These are my favourite quotes from the students: "I'm like Percy Jackson" -said by a student playing Romeo, and "I married you" -said by one student to another after acting out A Midsummer Night's Dream.
Next stop: Moose Jaw!
