After many great years we are retiring the Birthday Bash!
This event has long been a wonderful part of the family at Shakespeare on the Saskatchewan. It was when friends gathered to celebrate another year of this amazing organization and to try to put a bit of money in the kitty for the next summer. Since I have been fortunate enough to be Artistic Producer of this organization I have learned time and time again the level of dedication, investment, and love that people show for our little festival. The Bash was a great example of how our staff, volunteers, artists, patrons, and sponsors came together to keep this company going. I remember the very first one where we had a steak night at a bar and I remember the last one where PotashCorp announced stepping up to presenting sponsor for 2016. I am sad to see the Bash go but everything has its cycle and I am excited to see the next endeavors take us into an exciting future. The Bash is a prime example of how all of us here in 2017 are fortunate enough to enjoy being a part of the festival only because of the hard work of those that came before. My thanks to Elaine, Mark and all the board members, judges, hosts, volunteers, supporters, and donors who put all those hours into running the Bash for all those years. And to all of the great people that came out to the Bashes – we hope to see you at Chefs on the Saskatchewan!
